As we care for the whole person in our home health and hospice programs, it is critical we have the tools to identify and respond appropriately to any indications of self-harm. Dr. Chris Babbitt, PSY.D., LP Executive Director of Western Wisconsin Health Behavioral Health Services will present information on suicide including differentiating suicidal ideation and suicide risk and a flow sheet tool for responding appropriately. This training is designed for all of the Adoray team – volunteers and staff, as we work together for the well-being and safety of our patients. Please mark your calendar now and plan to attend. | | | December 3rd is GIVINGTUESDAY This #GivingTuesday consider Adoray Home Health & Hospice as your not-for-profit to donate to during the Giving Season! | | | | | | | | | | Greetings to November, Hospice Volunteers! “In November, the earth is growing quiet. Over time she got to know staff and store volunteers, and she inquired on becoming a volunteer herself. Rita is no stranger to community service. She currently serves on the River Falls Public Library Foundation Board and is the Treasurer for her township board. Folks in the area may also remember her from her dedicated service on the Pierce County Board of Supervisors. Giving back is an important aspect of her life and many organizations have been fortunate to have her share her time and talents. Rita also teaches online for UW-RF Extension. | | | When at Treasures, Rita can be found in the craft and fabric department working beside Ginny Larson. “I don’t feel so bad about my own stash when I see all the piles here in our fabric corner,” she said with a grin. Any true crafter or quilter understands what she means! Rita loves fabric and loves to sew which makes her a perfect fit for the craft department. She carefully measures and prepares the items, culling out the good from the not so great and prepares it for the sales floor. The supply of items is never ending. The variety is unbelievable. From beautiful yarns, wool roving, yards of fabric, spools of thread, upholstery fabric, sewing machines, it can be found at one time or another in the craft department. Keeping it looking fresh, organized and neat is a monumental task. Recently Rita also took on the challenge to help organize our display fabric area. It was out of control. It looked like bomb had gone off! (“I can say that as it was my mess,” says Joleen!) We get so busy taking displays down and putting displays back up that sometimes we just don’t get things put away and over time it becomes chaos. One day Rita heard Joleen discussing the mess and simply said if you tell me how you want it organized, I will come in and do it. Imagine our delight! It has never been so organized. And we are all working very hard to keep it maintained so that Rita never has to do that task again! Thank you Rita! | | | | | Volunteer Spotlight Linda Holm Linda Holm has been volunteering with us since late August. She had recently moved back to the Osceola area and had a lot of time on her hands so we have been keeping her busy since! We are thankful to have such a willing volunteer. Linda spends her time in the back room, tagging and cleaning and keeping things in ship shape condition around here. Having Linda here has been a tremendous help as we approach the holiday season as she has been able to help sort and tag all sorts of holiday items and helps us "see" what we should be getting to the floor next. If you stop by with donations, Linda is always willing to jump in and give a helping hand and if you know Linda, you know she likes to stay busy and she knows nearly everyone in town! So, we keep her busy and she keeps us up to speed on who's who. Linda is an avid sports fan, who also loves tractors and collecting anything with a cardinal on it. An annual favorite for her is attending the Almelund Threshing Show. Linda truly enjoys the people she volunteers with and meeting new people. She loves volunteering with Adoray for such a worthy cause! | | | | Pictured from left: Linda Holm, Joyce Nesvold, Debbie Vincelli, Nancy Johnson, Grace Bjorklund | | | | Mark your Calendars Osceola! | | Doe on the Go November 22-23 | 10am-7pm A fun filled 2 days for you to spend with your friends while your partners are out hunting!
