Dear Adoray Volunteers,

Hoping 2026 has been off to a wonderful start for each of you. As the new year unfolds, hearts are already full with gratitude for the compassion and generosity you continue to share. Anticipation is building for the opportunity to celebrate you at our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon this April, a day dedicated entirely to honoring the difference you make.

What an honor it is to share this place called Adoray with you.

Just last week, it was my incredible privilege to accept the Not-for-Profit of the Year Award from the Central St. Croix Chamber on behalf of Adoray Home Health and Hospice. Looking out across a room filled with businesses and leaders who love and believe in this community brought overwhelming pride — not in a name on a plaque, but in the people that name represents. When the time came to choose, the herd had spoken… and they chose Adoray. That award belongs to you.

It belongs to the volunteer sitting bedside. The one offering respite so a caregiver can rest. The friendly face in Treasures from the Heart. The helping hands behind the scenes. Like ripples across water, your care reaches shores you may never see.

In 2025, Adoray cared for hearts from age 2 to 106 — serving 627 home health patients, 29 palliative patients, and 392 hospice patients. Bereavement support was provided to more than 320 families, along with 50 grief counseling sessions and 521 massage therapy visits for hospice patients. Because of the dedication of this team — including each of you — hospice care grew by 28.7% over the previous year. That kind of growth only happens when compassion, integrity, and excellence shine brightly in a community.

And already in 2026, hearts are being filled once again.

Many of you helped make “Dream Big for Noah” a reality, a celebration that perfectly reflects why our Dream Big program exists. To bring joy, life, and unforgettable moments into the end-of-life journey. Noah’s 11th birthday was not simply a party; it was a hero’s celebration. With love from this community, a surprise visit from Spider-Man, and a room overflowing with laughter, Noah felt powerful, celebrated, and deeply cared for. His mom had the gift of simply being “mom” for the day, while Team Adoray stepped in with superhero-sized hearts.

Moments like that do not happen without you.

Capes are not required to be a hero. The heart, compassion, and dedication you bring every single day — that is the true superpower.

In honor of the incredible difference you make, we are hosting our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon and Awards Ceremony on Sunday, April 26 at The Phoenix – Baldwin, WI.

This special gathering is dedicated to celebrating you — your kindness, your service, and the countless quiet ways you change lives. Details for RSVP and nominating a fellow volunteer will be shared below.

Thank you for believing in big dreams. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for being the heart and hands of Adoray.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Christa Walz, PT, BS, MA PT
Executive Director, Adoray Home Health & Hospice

Adoray Volunteer Awards

During the luncheon, we’ll gather under island vibes to recognize and celebrate outstanding volunteers at our 2025 Annual Volunteer Awards, including:

Nancy Parlin
Hospice Volunteer
of the Year Award

Nancy Parlin is remembered as a dedicated supporter of Adoray, serving patients and families with compassion and kindness at the end of their earthly journeys, as well as lending her strength as a leader and member of the Adoray Board of Directors. Her generous spirit was demonstrated both personally and professionally as she ministered locally and worked for peace throughout the world. Adoray is honored to present this recognition in her memory to a hospice volunteer who embodies her selfless passion for lifting others up.

Barb Hess
Treasures Volunteer
of the Year Award

(one for each of our four store locations)

Barb embodied the heart of Adoray’s mission. With a true servant’s heart, she never judged, always saw the good in others, and simply asked, “How can I help you today?” Barb generously volunteered in the office and at the Baldwin and River Falls Treasures from the Heart stores, bringing compassion, dedication, and a tireless spirit wherever she went. In her memory, the Barb Hess Volunteer of the Year Award honors those who follow her example of selfless service to Adoray and our patients.

2026 Adoray Giving

Dear Adoray Volunteers,

Because of you, compassion lives and breathes throughout Adoray. Whether you are serving in Treasures from the Heart, sitting bedside with a hospice patient, or supporting families in quiet, meaningful ways, your presence makes an extraordinary difference. Thank you for being such a vital part of our mission.

Today, we are inviting you to join us in a new way.

We are excited to share the launch of our 2026 Annual Giving Campaign in support of Full Circle Aftercare — a program that allows us to continue caring for families long after a loved one’s passing. While hospice care may end, the paperwork, financial decisions, benefit questions, and vulnerability to fraud are often just beginning. Full Circle Aftercare walks alongside families during this overwhelming time, helping them navigate Social Security, insurance, estate matters, retirement accounts, and more.

Because of your generosity last year,
Full Circle Aftercare was able to make a profound difference.
In 2025:

221 families
received our full aftercare support

$8,201 in unclaimed property
was found and returned to families

128 families
with Social Security

46 families
with retirement benefits

22 families
take next steps with investment accounts

Pick up your Volunteer Giving Form at the Adoray Office or any of our Adoray's Treasures from the Heart stores.

Each year, this program supports more than 200 families and costs over $20,000 to provide — a service that is not reimbursed by Medicare, but one we believe is essential to truly compassionate care.

We are humbled to share that 12 Adoray staff members and 1 volunteer have already helped us reach 20% of our $20,000 goal. What an incredible start. Now, we are hoping you will consider joining them.

Your gift — of any size — helps us continue providing care after our care. It ensures families are not left alone to navigate the practical and financial realities of loss. It is one more way we live out our mission of compassionate, skilled, and personalized care.

If you feel called to extend your impact beyond your volunteer hours, we would be deeply grateful for your support.

Together, we can continue walking with families — even after goodbye.

With heartfelt appreciation,
Amber Bettinger-Lytle

Every life deserves to be met with compassion and presence.

In 2025, Adoray’s End of Life Doulas shared over 132 hours across 75 visits with patients and families. From sitting at bedsides, listening to stories, offering education, and creating meaningful legacy projects that will be treasured long after goodbye.

They guide, support, and help families feel more prepared, more connected, and less alone - turning uncertainty into moments of love and reflection.

Adoray's EOLD volunteers are trained to gently remove the fear that can surround the end of life with compassion and integrity. If you feel called to serve in this sacred way, Adoray provides the training.

Call us today at 715-629-1888 to learn more about how to become an Adoray End of Life Doula Volunteer.
