| | | | Dear Adoray Volunteers, As we begin 2025, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to all of you—our Hospice and Office Volunteers, as well as the incredible volunteers at our Adoray’s Treasures from the Heart stores in Baldwin, River Falls, and Osceola. Your selflessness, dedication, and unwavering support are the heart of everything we do, and I am so thankful for each and every one of you. In 2024, you contributed an astonishing 18,156.58 hours of your time to Adoray, a value of $608,063.86, which is up 20% from 2023. This is a truly remarkable gift, and we are humbled by your commitment. Your time and talents allow us to continue providing the highest quality of care and support to the individuals and families in our community, whether through Home Health, Palliative Care, Hospice, or Grief Support. | | | Thanks to you, in 2024, Adoray was able to care for 1,116 individuals across various services: - Home Health: 770 patients
- Palliative Care: 43 patients
- Hospice: 303 patients
- Bereavement: 455 mailings, 622 calls, and 17 counseling sessions
We truly could not have done this without you. As a not-for-profit organization, our volunteers are an essential part of our ability to operate and continue providing compassionate care to those who need it most. You make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families every single day, and we are incredibly grateful for your support. | | Looking ahead, 2025 promises to be a year of exciting milestones as we celebrate Adoray’s 30th Anniversary! One of the most exciting developments is the opening of our 4th Adoray’s Treasures from the Heart store in Menomonie, WI, set to open in Spring 2025. We’ll need your help to spread the word and encourage others to join our volunteer team, especially at the new Menomonie location. Stay tuned for more details as we finalize the timeline! | | | | I’m also thrilled to announce that our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Party Luncheon will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Ready Randy’s in New Richmond, WI. This event is our opportunity to celebrate YOU and everything you do for Adoray. All volunteers are invited, and we welcome you to bring a guest for $20 per person. During the luncheon, we’ll be presenting the 2024 Annual Volunteer Awards, including the Nancy Parlin Hospice Volunteer of the Year Award and the Barb Hess Treasures Volunteer of the Year Award for each of our 3 store locations. RSVP will be shared in February. We need your help to recognize those who have gone above and beyond in 2024. Nominations for these awards are open from January 15th to February 28th, and you can vote online using the link below, or pick up a hard copy at the Adoray office or any of the Treasures from the Heart stores. Let’s make sure those who have made the biggest impact are honored! | | | | | | I look forward to seeing you at the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, where we will celebrate you, our 30th Anniversary, and the incredible work we do together to care for our community. Thank you once again for your continued dedication to Adoray. Let’s make 2025 our best year yet! Recently, I came across this quote from one of his books that says: “Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So, love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get the chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it” With the new year ahead, an old one behind us, I reflect on the work hospice volunteers have accomplished in 2024 | | | Dementia and yearly training | | | | Close to 50 strong active volunteers | | | | | Veteran recognition ceremonies for many veterans | | | | Several volunteers added to our 11th hour program | | | | Veterans Day program in five facilities during November | | | | | Dream Big program completion for many hospice patients | | | | Single day projects, wheelchair ramp and railing that made 2 families very happy | | | | Appreciation month, celebrated with coffee, donuts, and connection between volunteers | | | | | Many music hours shared by our Peace in the Valley singers and our two music volunteers | | | | | Handmade quilts donated by our 2 quilting groups – Comfort Quilters and St.Bridget Martha Quilting group | | | | Memory items bears/pillows sown by our sewing volunteers | | | | Each one of you is such a big blessing to your patients and their families. The connection you have with them is unique and very powerful. You have taught me over the last year that human touch, a kind word and time spent in prayer and silence is priceless. You are a true example to me of what charity really is. I’m grateful for the work in the hospice you do. I look forward to all the new things we will accomplish in the year 2025. “…Nobody said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it” – Dr. Seus Martina😊 | | | | We are accepting New Volunteers to join our End of Life Doula Team!! It seems to have flown by so quickly, and here we are halfway through January already. I hope everyone is staying warm. | | This month, we are featuring: Bruce Rosand (aka Bruce Almighty, as he likes to refer to himself) Bruce helps us immensely in the back. Bruce is here 2-4 days a week, sometimes twice a day, taking out garbage, recycling, and taking numerous bags and boxes to the Jai container. On days when we get heavy donations, all we have to do is call, and Bruce is always willing to come back. We are so very THANKFUL to have Bruce. During Spring, Summer, and fall, Bruce can be found on the Golf course. Bruce loves his dog Daphne (who Bruce rescued), and Daphne adores Bruce and is a daddies girl. Bruce takes Daphne daily to the golf course all year round to run her, which she ❤️ Thank You Bruce | | | | Carolyn is our monthly gift card drawing winner! Congratulations, Carolyn and thank you for sharing all your time and talents with us!! | | | | | | | | Adoray's Treasures From The Heart Store Osceola welcomes the newest addition to our fantastic team: Peggy Alberts Peggy also goes by Peg. She's a hockey mom of two high school teenage daughters in Somerset. Peg likes to read, garden and anything outdoors like kayaking. She starts her day before the sun rises milking cows at the Crystal Ball Farms in East Farmington. Peg was drawn to Adoray in admiration of the healthcare and charitable aspects of helping others in our community. She has a great team approach and already has established her willingness to give valuable insight into "working smarter" for improvements. Peg brings joy to the job with her kind-hearted spirit! We are so grateful to have her join us!! | | | | George Viellieux has volunteered with Adoray Treasures Store since December 2016! He has been a valuable member of the store volunteers cleaning shoes and boots and often helps where needed by carrying bins to the basement, sweeping the sidewalks and vacuuming to name a few of his contributions. Recently, he even donated a box of florescent light bulbs from the Luck Museum for our store. Thank you, George, for your dedication and contributions! | | | | Introducing the newest duo to Adoray's Treasures From The Heart volunteer family: Bob and Cindy Heidelberger Bob just joined us as our handyman fixing the collection of items needing attention. Cindy is a wonderful addition to the team of cashiers here at the store. She also is our December Volunteer attendance Winner! They are truly a wonderful couple giving back to the community! Thank you for choosing Adoray's Treasures Store to share your skills and abilities! | | | | | | | | | Welcome to the Team, Wendy! Please join us in welcoming our newest cashier, Wendy!
