WISHING YOU ALL A WONDERFUL START TO 2023!

And just like that, with a shift of a clock hand (does anyone have actual clocks with hands anymore????) and maybe the toot of a paper horn, the New Year has arrived.  As with many people, I like to make resolutions for the fresh calendar pages of the next twelve months.  Often my focus drifts and by spring, those goals are long forgotten. This year, however, I am bound and determined to follow through on plans for the Volunteer Program and training/education opportunities for you each quarter.  In 2023, we will the following area together: Mind, Soul, Body, and Heart.  The tentative calendar looks like this:

  • Mind: January 16 / February 2 – “Dementia Friends” and Memory Project Creation  (More info coming shortly – mark your calendar for one of those days!)
  • Soul: April – “Grief Doodling” presentation by well-known author Harriet Hodgson
  • Body: August - Annual Training / Hand Massage & Gentle Touch Techniques
  • Heart: Healthy Boundaries by Heart

In addition to these plans, please stay tuned for “Coffee Chats” which will be times for volunteers to simply come together and share their experiences, ideas, and enjoy fellowship.

A closing thought for you:

A New Year Poem
by John P. Read

Brush away old heartaches.
Learn from our mistakes.
Another year is finally over.
A new dawn awakes.

Let the old year out.
Welcome the new one in.
Bury the bad things of the past
As the new year now begins.

Make your New Year wishes
As simple as you can.
Pray for Peace and love,
Not for wealth or fame.

Pray for health and happiness.
Pray for your fellow man.
Pray for all the ones you love.
Pray for those who’ve lost their way.

As the midnight hour chimes,
We leave the old and embrace the new.
I wish the things you wish for yourself,
And may God’s love stay with you.

Blessings!

The Treasures Round-Up is a great way for the community to connect with where the funds raised from Treasures go to support the great care programs Adoray provides throughout our 6-County service area. This months total funds will go to our Palliative Care program.

November 2022 Round Up Total: $823.42

December 2022 Round Up Total: $386.79

Baldwin Treasures 2 held a Silent Auction with some handmade Christmas Gnomes and décor and raised $460 for the Palliative Care program (picture the Gnome item sold for the highest bid attached). Thank you so much for the creativity and tremendous support to everyone who help make it possible to support Adoray and our patients.

Bringing in the New Year with a cheer! I hope everyone had a wonderful, safe and healthy holiday season with family and friends. We are all refreshed and ready to greet the year, our customers and all our volunteers back to our Adoray/Treasures home. At the end of the year, I’m astounded at all the hours our volunteers donate to make it possible for us to fulfill the need for funds to support Adoray. We still have some volunteers choosing not to log their volunteer hours or enter in the monthly drawing at the stores. If you aren’t familiar with the Volunteer Hours Log sheet, please reach out to the staff at your store location. Also, each time you volunteer, enter your name in the Monthly Volunteer Drawing. The name drawn at each store will win a $10.00 Gift Certificate to use at any of the Treasures locations. It’s a little perk for you! Here’s an example of the log sheet I encourage you to use.
Thanks for all you do and will do in the New Year!

December was a busy month for us at T2 trying to empty the store for our upcoming and EXCITING RENOVATION PROJECT. In the beginning, it seemed quite dismal (the clear glass alone gave me anxiety🤣🤪🤣) wondering if we could empty the store through the front door..... well I believe we did it and a Fantabulous job we did. THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who worked tirelessly week after week keeping it full through all of our crazy sales, your time, talents, and effort in accomplishing this.... the pictures are the proof.
