Working as a nursing assistant for many years I made it my priority to learn my patients. Not just to learn how to take care of them, but also how they like their coffee in the morning, or what is their favorite song, what movie they enjoyed watching with their kids. I hope that in many years I spend taking care of older adults they felt valued by me, not because that was my job, but because I loved spending my time with them, listening to their stories, learning about their past, holding their hand when things did not look so promising. I see how much you care. The work you do as volunteers with each visit you make, each song you play, each Bible verse you read, you truly make our hospice patients feel loved and appreciated. You make them feel heard, feel like they are important, feel like they matter. And all these, even though they seem like small things, are very big things that our hospice patients and their families will remember. Thank you! โ Martina ๐ | |
