Happy May

The Adoray Home Health and Hospice Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary Aaby as the Interim CEO, which will be effective at the end of June 2024.

Mary worked for Adoray for twenty years, from 1998 to 2017, as the Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, Mary served as CFO for Interim in Roseville, MN. During Mary’s tenure with Adoray, she helped shape the organization’s mission, and her leadership contributed to Adoray’s current success.

With heartfelt appreciation, Mary remarks, " I am thankful for the opportunity to serve as the Interim CEO and work with the Adoray team that has provided excellent home health, hospice, and palliative care in our communities for almost 30 years.”

In her role, Mary is poised to foster a harmonious partnership with the Adoray team, ensuring the unwavering pursuit of the organization's core mission and values. Her collaboration with the departing CEO, Amanda Gustafson, is designed to facilitate a seamless and efficient transition, emphasizing her commitment to maintaining Adoray's dynamic culture.

Eilidh Pederson, the Chair of the Board of Directors, expresses full confidence in Mary's leadership during this interim phase, affirming, "Mary's exemplary stewardship, her extensive background with Adoray, and her commitment to the Adoray mission make her the ideal choice for this interim appointment." The Board of Directors is concurrently engaged in a strategic process to appoint a permanent Executive Director for the Adoray Organization. "At Adoray Home Health & Hospice, we strive to create an environment where our employees can flourish both personally and professionally," stated Amanda Gustafson, CEO of Adoray Home Health & Hospice. "Receiving gold-level certification as a Family Friendly Workplace reflects our dedication to fostering a positive workplace culture."

The true-blue Forget-Me-Not plant displays a cloud of tiny sky-blue flowers with yellow centers, perched on the tip of hairy stems which grow from 4 inches to a foot long. An old German legend says that God had assembled all the flowers to give each one a name until there was only one tiny plant that remained. Then God turned as if to leave, causing the little plant to cry out:” Forget me not O Lord, and the Lord said: “That shall be your name.”

This tiny blue flower does not attract immediate attention, it is very easily overlooked among larger and more vibrant flowers, yet it is just as beautiful and important as other plants and flowers that we see in flower gardens.

Over the course of four months, I have had the great privilege of meeting many of you, in person, or over the phone. I am truly amazed what a great group of volunteers you are. There are many reasons an individual starts volunteering, personal value, concerns for well-being of another individual, desire to give back to the community, desire to give back after receiving Hospice service, and because it’s your calling. All these, and many more, are wonderful reasons for which you volunteer.

I see power and spark in you when you talk or write about the service you have provided to a dying patient. I know how deep you feel when a patient passes on from this life. I see your joy, and your sorrow, your commitment, and your sacrifice.

My hope is that just like Forget-Me-Not flowers you feel appreciated, recognized, and thanked on a regular basis. You are a vital part of our Hospice. Without you it would be impossible to reach the lives of each and every one of our Hospice patients. You are the one that offers kindness, love, and time to each one of them.

I look forward to meeting more of you in person before I see you all on June 24th for our mandatory meeting, that will be followed by a fun and relaxing picnic.

Have an amazing month😊 – Martina
