Each day is a surprise mix of whatever comes our way for a few weeks. Surprise mixes of change is something our volunteers in River Falls help keep going. We have several helpers doing the displays each week, both setting new displays and refilling empty spots. Many customers visit each day to browse and see all the surprise mixes of change that are wonderfully designed by you all. Our cashiers take hold of each week’s new sales and share the excitement with the customers. While customers come and go, many times one of our volunteers is a surprise to a customer as a recognizable friend! They are excited to see a familiar face, excited that you are volunteering and in exchange, our volunteers take pride in sharing how Treasures Stores support Adoray. For all the helpers in the backset of the store, the change has progressed heavily from Winter Clothing being introduced and 3 different holidays very close to each other. You continue to do this so smoothly! Thank you all for creating, encouraging, participating and embracing the surprise mixes of change. You’re doing great and extremely valued! With over 700 kiddos in attendance this year - everyone had a spooktacular time even with the chilly temp. Thank you again to Lisa for helping show our community how much we love being a part of these great community events! If you are in the Baldwin area on Saturday, December 2nd - come on down and watch the Horse Parade in front of the Treasures store. The Horse Parade with Santa starts at 12:30pm. | | | | As we embark on the Holiday season, I personally want to Thank each and everyone of you who donate your time and talents to Adoray Treasures. We are so Grateful to have you and wish you a wonderful season full of love, family, and friends! - Karen | | | | | | | | October has been a busy month in Osceola! Choo! Choo! And the customers just keep rolling in. We are now into full swing for the holiday season, with Christmas trees and holiday decorations galore! Check out the lights in our windows when you drive by in the evening. They are soooo pretty. George shared a picture of himself and his sister riding a Trisha (pronounced Tri - shaw). His sister gave him this as a special gift for his birthday earlier this summer. The opposite of a Rickshaw, the driver is in the back pedaling an electric bicycle that goes up to 12 mph. This was a really fun experience for George! Mary shared that she is spending Halloween in Salem, MA with her granddaughters this year. She loves all things Halloween. Here they are having a ball. We are WINNERS! Once again, our store was voted Best Thrift Store in the valley. Without each of you, we certainly could not have earned this high honor. Thank you for all you do here! | | | | PLEASE NOTE: The staff here is feeling so THANKFUL for each of you, that we are hosting a THANKFUL LUNCHEON on Monday, November 20 from 12-3pm at Debbie's house. We will have her address and directions for you at the store. Soup and beverages will be provided and we ask that you bring a potluck side item. This will be so fun to be together and spend time with each other during this thankful time of year! Please plan to attend. | | | | | | | | Happy November Hospice Volunteers The fall colors came late this year but were as vibrant and beautiful as ever! One of my friends on Facebook posted this quote. It reminded me how we all face change daily, and how you as valuable volunteers face it in the service you provide our precious patients. While sitting, reading, singing, and listening with them, you help these individuals see the beautiful parts of their lives as they change and their journeys draw to a close. In this season of Thanksgiving, I want to personally thank each of you for your many kindnesses to Adoray’s patients and families. Your dedication and commitment are deeply appreciated by the clinicians and care team members, as well. You are each valued and appreciated!!!! | | | | Program Update In addition to the changes in the seasons, there are some positive changes taking place at Adoray in the hospice volunteer department. During the month of November, I will be working with a new team member, Martina Steltzner, who is excited to take on many of the day-to-day volunteer program responsibilities. She will be coordinating all the volunteer placements with patients, assisting with bereavement items, organizing WHV pinnings, and managing other program-related activities as needed. Her contact information is: m.steltzner@adoray.org Adoray Cell: 715-928-9981 She will be in the office Monday-Friday and will be available to assist you with volunteer program questions. I will remain at Adoray (because I love working here) and will be taking on a newly created position of Foundation and Volunteer Manager. This means, if you need support and Martina is not available, you are always welcome to contact me. I will still be involved in the volunteer program supporting Martina. Additionally, I will be working on fundraising and grant writing efforts. As Adoray grows, we need to make sure we have the funds to ensure our patients continue to receive great care through our programs. | | | | Meet Martina Martina has been employed as a CNA with Adoray since 2017. In addition to being the Lead CNA, she is a Dementia Live Coach, Compassionate Touch Coach, and recently completed her certification in Gerontology and Aging Care. She loves working with older adults and passionately believes in Adoray’s mission of improving the lives of the individuals she cares for each day. Originally from Zagreb, Croatia, she moved to the United States at the age of 18. When not at work, Martina enjoys camping, riding ATVs, hiking, kayaking, fishing, photography, and most of all spending time with her family. She calls Hudson home with her husband and four sons. | | | | Compassionate Caregivers Congratulations to our volunteers who completed Compassionate Touch Training in October!
