in the Atrium of Western Wisconsin Health. | |  | | | | | | |  | Very ironically, change is the only thing that remains a constant in our lives. From the moment we enter this life, until the last breath we take, change is a very powerful force in our lives. It gives us opportunity to progress and create future we desire for ourselves. Change is also very intimidating and scary. It makes us question “can I do this?” and “am I ready? | | | | Fall is upon us, and so is another change, a change in season. The hustle and bustle of summer, to do lists, activities late into the evening are behind us. It is time to slow down a little. A recent quote I read says: "Autumn, the season that teaches us the change can be beautiful“, reminds me that change of season, as well as any change in our lives are all part of a beautiful plan. End of life is difficult, but it can also be beautiful. As volunteers you are doing things to make that end of life, for our hospice patients, as beautiful as it can be. You meet your patients where they are. You serve with all your heart and kindness in many positions. Thank you for all the beauty you bring with you. 💜 Adoray's Treasures from the Heart - Baldwin | | | |  | | | | | | |  | “It’s the circle of life Simba!” Often folks will hear me reference that simple quote. It encapsulates life at Treasures! Each day we receive hundreds of beautiful donations. Staff and volunteers process them and out to the sales floor they go where they find new homes and help us raise needed funds to support Adoray’s patients and their families. Completing the circle. Imagine how thrilled we were when Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Martina, reached out to GM Joleen inquiring if the stores could help with our annaul Veteran’s Day baskets for our Hospice Veteran Pateints. Martha’s Quilt Group from St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls had agreed to make basket liners for the veteran’s baskets. The concern was they may not have enough of ‘patriotic”, red, white, blue fabric. Not to worry! In less than a day we were able to provide enough fabric to not only create the requested 25 baskets but 34! Again, completing the circle and accomplishing our mission. Pictured above is a selection of the basket liners as they are being created. Great job ladies! Thank you! | | | | | | | | | |  | This month's Volunteer spotlight is Jean Kelly Jean Kelly helps us on Thursdays in store with the behind the scenes, of testing and cleaning all electronics, and small kitchen appliances. If that's not enough, Jean also takes all our linens, bedding, curtains, and more home to tag and price. Then, Jean brings them back, looking like new and restocks our linen area weekly, usually 6 bins to be processed. Jean is originally from Baldwin and now resides in Woodville, where she loves to garden. Jean also loves antiques. We are truly Blessed and Thankful for Jean to share so much of her time with us. We definitely appreciate you and couldn't do it without you. | | | | Adoray's Treasures from the Heart is excited to participate in the Annual Trick or Treat on Main Street in Balwin. If you are in the area Next Thursday, October 31st from 3-5pm, swing on down and grab a spooktacular treat, we will be outside the treasures store. We can't wait to see all the great costumes and join in the fun with our community! | | | |  | We are excited for our next Volunteer Apprciation Lunch, which will be held next
Wednesday, October 30th, starting at noon.
Plus, Adoray's New Executive Director, Christa Walz, will be swinging by to meet you all and bringing Cupcakes to say thank you for all you do to support Adoray Home Health and Hospice by sharing your time and talents with us at the Adoray's Treasures from the Heart Store in Baldwin.
Even if you are not volunteering on Wednesday, swing on in for a bite and some comradery.
We look forward to seeing you all! | | | | | | | |  | Fall is in the air! Our new volunteer, Sue DeMenge, arranged a beautiful outdoor Fall display for the Osceola store front. She has a garden cottage where she sells her garden goodies and decor in the Osceola community. Her amazing abilities are also displayed at the nursing home where she works. She's a wonderful, giving addition to our volunteer team here at Adoray's Treasures from the Heart. As our census grows - so do our requests for Volunteers from our patients and families. We are in need of more Hospice Volunteers. If you know anyone who would be interested in sharing their gifts and time to help care for our community.
Please have them contact Martina. We are also in need of cashiers at our Baldwin and River Falls stores.
2 person teams would be great! We are hoping to find two friends or family members to come 1 afternoon a month or every other week and share a shift cashiering together! What a Great way to meet people and spend time with your friend or family member while giving back to your community! If you know of anyone who would like to Volunteer at one of our wonderful Treasures from the Heart stores.
